Sunday 16 March marks the fifth year of Shropshire County Council’s Music Service's Pops Orchestra charity concert, in aid of Hope House. This year the orchestra will play music from films and stage including King Kong, Mission Impossible, West Side Story, The Chronicles of Narnia, Pirates of the Caribbean, Thunderbirds, The Mission and For Your Eyes Only.
The charity music concert, held annually, provides a wonderful showcase for the extensive musical talent in Shropshire. Liz Nicholson, Corporate Director for Children & Young People's Services at Shropshire County Council, who is organising the event, said: “This event is a great opportunity to not only celebrate the wonderful music talent of our young people in Shropshire, but also do something to support Hope House. It is their unstinting support and dedication that is a real inspiration, and we are proud to be able to support them.”
This year's event will be held at Meole Brace School Science College, Shrewsbury starting at 2.30pm, and light refreshments will be available. The event is always very popular, and last year £900 was raised for Hope House.
There will also be a raffle with prizes, including tickets to Shrewsbury Flower Show, Ludlow races and an autographed Shrewsbury Town Football Club football, with all proceeds going to Hope House.
Tickets for the concert cost £5.00 for individuals, or £12.00 for a family ticket (2 adults plus your children), and are available from Penny McLagan on (01743) 254302 or (01743) 254309.
