Press release - 12 June 2007
Shropshire County Council is set to consult further regarding the proposed changes to the parking scheme in Ludlow.
A letter asking peoples views on the proposals will be distributed to every household and business in Ludlow and the surrounding area next week.
This latest consultation follows extensive, non-conclusive discussions with various interested groups such as The Town Centre Residents Association, Ludlow Guild of Business, The Chamber of Trade and Commerce, South Shropshire District Council and Ludlow Town Council.
Hugh Dannatt, Shropshire County Council’s group manager for traffic strategy, said: “Throughout our discussions with various groups we have been unable to reach a conclusive decision regarding the parking scheme. Due to this we have decided to ask the businesses and residents of Ludlow, Ludford and Bromfield directly.
“The result of this survey will be used to make the final decision regarding these alterations.”
Questionnaires asking 15 questions will be delivered to addresses taken from the electoral register and the database of those paying business rates.
