Craftbox will be at Shropshire County Council’s Ludlow Library & Museum Resource Centre from Monday next week (3 March) until Thursday 20 March. The event is free of charge.
Craftbox is a specially made box containing commissioned craft items by 17 makers, and is currently touring community centres in Shropshire. The collection contains a very diverse range of craftpieces which communities, groups and schools are invited to come along to look at and handle. An interpreter will accompany the box to assist groups or individuals to access the works.
The project includes artist workshops with Louise Chesshire, who produced pieces for the box.
Craftbox is a partnership project between Shropshire County Council and Bilston Craft Gallery, with funding from Arts Council England; the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council; and Renaissance West Midlands.
If anyone would like to see the craftbox you need to make an appointment. Enquries are welcome: please contact Carol Overs on (01694) 722130 or carolovers@hotmail.com for further information and to make a booking.
