For a packed day of fun, designed to take the stress out of arranging their special day, why not come to the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre?
One of our dedicated team will run a led session with the children for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Choose one of our activities:
Activities suitable for 3 to 11 year olds
- Pond Dipping – you never know what you'll find in your net! (spring/summer only)
- Purple prickles and Poisonous Warts – act out a well loved story with nut and spoon races, hunt the owl, make a mask, pin the tail on the fox and play 'Snakes and Ladders'
- The Three Pigs – see if you can build house of sticks that can stand up to huffing and puffing and then enjoy a toasted marshmallow. A ratio of one adult to two children is essential for this activity.
Activities suitable for 5 to 11 year olds
- Mega Mammoth – find out about the Shropshire Mammoths, learn about fossils and then make one to take home
- Make Wild Music – explore sounds in the Onny Meadows, gathering natural materials to create your own musical instrument to take home
- The Slime Workshop – discover why slime is so important in nature and make some to take home
- Making Paper – make a variety of types of paper from recycled materials to take home

Secret Hills exhibition
The offer also includes entrance to the Secret Hills exhibition, where the children can follow Tusker's Timeline Trail, dress up like Iron Age people and enjoy a hot air balloon experience.
Birthday tea
Sometime during the visit everyone will enjoy a birthday tea - provided by our excellent catering team, in a private room - another thing you won't have to worry about.
In fact all you need to do is send out the invitations and bring the cake!
(We can supply a simple, homemade cake for you as well if you like for £7.00).

And the final fantastic thing about our birthday party package is that it's great value for money - £95.00 for up to 10 children (grown-ups get to join in the fun for free), and £5.00 per additional child, up to a maximum of 15 children.
