The Social Care Emergency Duty Team provide help in a crisis to vulnerable adults, children in need and their families when local daytime offices have closed. This includes during the night, on weekends and public holidays.

We often work in partnership and receive referrals from other agencies, such as the health service and the police, to provide an out-of-hours service.

The team aims to:

  • help people with mental health problems who may be at risk to themselves or others
  • help older people who are extremely vulnerable and may be unable to cope alone in the community
  • respond to Child Protection concerns raised by members of the public and other agencies
  • support people with a disability who need urgent access to services
  • support families in crisis
  • work with the police to help vulnerable adults and young people that offend.

WE ARE ONLY AVAILABLE TO DEAL WITH SOCIAL CARE EMERGENCIES THAT ARISE OUTSIDE OFFICE HOURS.
