Welcome to Shropshire Council Leisure Service. Our aim is to encourage and support participation in a wide range of sporting and recreational activities. We want to make it easier for people to play sport and to nurture and support sporting excellence where appropriate. As well as providing a wide range of services, we also work closely with Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Council and the County Sports Partnership to try to help more people to be more active.
On these pages, you can find information about Shropshire's leisure centres and the facilities they offer. Visit the Leisure Centres section for information about specific centres, timetables, price lists etc. You may qualify for discounted admission to these centres - please see the BeActive Leisure Membership Scheme page for more details.
You will also find information about things for young people to do in the school holidays and after school, and also about play activities in the Activities for Children section.
The Active and Healthy pages describe the variety of Physical Activity Schemes running throughout Shropshire, including independent exercise classes and the Exercise on Referral scheme.
Details of recent and upcoming leisure events in Shropshire, including sporting competitions, can be found in the Sport & Leisure Events section.
In addition to the many sport and leisure facilities, there are over 400 sports clubs in Shropshire. Please go to the Find a Sports Club page to find out about the Energize Club Directory, a database with details of these clubs and those in the Telford and Wrekin area.
We can also help you become a sports coach and identify volunteering opportunities. We may also be able to offer assistance to your sports club through grant aid.
Young people and vulnerable adults have a lot to gain from sport and recreation. For further information on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, visit the Child and Adults welfare page.
We are continually developing the Leisure webspages to ensure that the information provided is as up to date and as customer-orientated as possible. Your comments and suggestions in relation to this are integral to the process of continuous improvement, and are gratefully received.
