Be Active leisure membership scheme

As of 1 April 2010 Shropshire Council will be launching a new leisure discount scheme.

The BeActive leisure scheme is open to all residents, visitors, clubs, groups and organisations and will be available at all Shropshire Council leisure facilities.

The centre closes on all bank holidays each year and also on Easter Sunday.

Facilities

The centre has a full range of facilities, indoor and out, for cricket, football, rugby, athletics, tennis, bowls, badminton, football, basketball, archery, fencing, volleyball, gymnastics, trampolining, martial arts, and a swimming pool offering courses and public swimming. A number of the clubs who use these facilities have had substantial success, locally and on the national stage.

Swimming Programme
The centre also runs a very successful swimming lesson programme with a wide range of sessions available for swimmers of all abilities aged from four months to adult. In addition private one to one lessons are available at times to suit for adults and children. The pool is open from the middle of February to the end of October each year.

All lessons are taught by fully qualified ASA/STA teachers and lessons are based around the Swimming Teacher’s Association international swimming and water safety standards. As well as lessons there are also a range of activities available for competent swimmers including; lifesaving and a non competitive swim club.

Children's parties can be arranged starting from £12.30 for hire of the sports hall. Football, trampolining, pool parties with space for food, can all be arranged, contact the centre for further details.

Rookie Lifeguard Taster Session

Every weekday morning during the Easter Holidays (Tues 6 - Fri 16 April)

• Complete Beginners, 9.15 - 9.45am
• Beginners, 9.45 - 10.15am
• Advanced Beginners, 10.15 - 10.45am
• Intermediate, 10.45 - 11.15am
• Advanced, 11.15 - 11.45am

£22.50 per child (cardholders). One to one swimming lessons are also available throughout the week. Contact the centre directly for more information.

Trampolining

Tuesday 6 & Thursday 8 April, 11.00am - 12.55pm. Ages 4.5 +. £5.90 per child (cardholders).
