Sports Development

There is a team of officers working around Shropshire to develop and improve local sport and leisure opportunities.

County Sports Development Officers

Responsibilities of the Development Officers include:

• Plan and organise holiday and after school activity programmes
• Support the development of local sports clubs and community groups
• Offer advice on potential sources of external funding
• Support local clubs and community groups when applying for funding
• Work with School Sport Partnerships to develop youth participation and support school-club links
• Recruit new sports coaches, monitor and evaluate their performance
• Develop links with the local community and voluntary organisations to develop and promote opportunities in sport and physical activity
