BeActive Leisure Membership
The BeActive leisure scheme is open to all residents, visitors, clubs, groups and organisations and is available at all Shropshire Council leisure facilities. Sport clubs
Stoke City Football Academy
Every Thursday between 6pm - 8pm.
Football Academy for under 7's and under 8's with training due to take place for under 9's in 2012.
Shrewsbury Hockey Club
Roman Road Sports Centre is the home of Shrewsbury Hockey Club. Shrewsbury have four men's teams, two women's teams and a junior side. This friendly club are always seeking new members, whether you are seeking a competitive weekend league to play in or just a way to keep fit and have fun. Training takes place every Tuesday on the floodlit synthetic pitch. Shrewsbury Hockey Club have now changed their times for training.
- 6pm - 7pm Juniors
- 7pm - 8.30pm Ladies
- 8.30pm - 10pm Men's
Friday training sessions for under 11's - Time: 5pm - 6pm on the synthetic pitch, £3 per week with trained hockey coaches.
Shropshire Hockey

Training sessions are every Thursday between 6pm - 8pm. Also includes weekend matches against other sides.
Shrewsbury Netball Club
Are you seeking a non-competitive netball session to take part in? Then come along and join in the friendly and fun netball session on Wednesday evenings between 7pm - 8pm. Just drop in and say hello, or ask at reception for more information.
Meole Brace Badminton Club
These group of experienced players meet every Tuesday between 7.30pm and 10pm for some doubles badminton. Drop in and say hello or ask at reception for more information.
Not interested in joining a badminton club? Then why not hire a badminton court for private use with friends or family. Badminton is a great fun way to keep fit, so why not give it a try! Ask at reception or phone to book a court.
Children's Birthday Parties
Here at Roman Road Sports Centre we take the stress out of organising your child's birthday party! To choose your party type, date and time contact the sports centre. Equipment is included in the booking fee. Maximum number 30.
All parties are two hours in length and include two members of staff who will provide a variety of activities such as introduction games, party games, sporting games and a bouncy castle in a safe and fun environment. An area for the children to eat party food is also available (party food not provided).
