I would like to enter the race - how can I apply?
You can enter on-line or download an application form by following the link on this page or contact the Leisure Service and we will forward an application form.
I can no longer enter the race - how do I cancel?
Cancellations must be received in writing. Full refunds will be given up to 4 weeks prior to the event. 50% refunds will be awarded for cancellations received up to 12pm, Friday, 15th May 2012. No refunds will be given after this
deadline.
How do I know if my entry has been successful?
You will receive an email confirming your entry, or if you have not supplied an email address, your confirmation will be sent in the post.
Please note that unless otherwise stated your confirmation will be sent by email and the RACEPACK will be available to download from the Shropshire Council website approximately 3 weeks before the event. If you do not have access to the internet your information will be sent to you by post.
I would like to travel to the event on the Saturday - where can I stay?
Camping is available at the Lakelands Sports Centre, Oswestry Road, Ellesmere. The Sports Centre will be open until 8.00pm on Saturday 23rd June 2012 and from 8.00am until 5.00pm on Sunday 24th June 2012. Showers and changing facilities will be provided free of charge to competitors and partners.
There are relatively few hotels in the town although there are numerous B & B’s in the surrounding countryside. Information is readily available from the Ellesmere Tourist Information Centre on 01691 662488.
When will I receive more race information?
Your racepack will be available to download 4 weeks before the event and you will be sent an email informing you of this.
Can I swim in the Mere before the event?
Swimming is only permitted in the Mere during the event.
Can I access the run/bike routes?
The maps are all available to download, please follow the link on this page.
Can I hire a wetsuit?
Yes, if you contact Tri UK, 01935 414 142 (www.triuk.com)
Is there a prize for winners?
Yes, there are vouchers for 1st place for age group categories, further information will be in your racepack.
My child is coming with me - is there anywhere that he/she can stay while I race?
No, sorry there are no 'Crèche' facilities.
Can I leave my belongings in a secure place?
The transition is secured during the race and staffed by experience volunteers. Shropshire Council cannot take responsibility for loss or damage to your possessions.
Can my friend register for me?
Yes, providing that, in advance of the event, you supply us with written confirmation that you would like your friend to register for you and they bring this letter, along with your current BTF card (if you are a BTF member).
Can I wear a racebelt?
Yes but it is your responsibility to ensure that your number is clearly visible, in the front whilst running and on the back whilst cycling.
I have an allergy to latex, can I wear my own swim hat?
Yes, provided you wear your supplied/numbered swim hat on top.
When will the results be available?
We aim to have the provisional results available to download within 48 hours of the event finishing.
