Early Years Professional Network

EYP members photograph

You can join our thriving Graduate Leader Network if you are:

  • EYP or QTS
  • Second Year Early Years Foundation Degree student
  • BA in Early Years student
  • EYP pathway student

Every term, Early Years graduates in Shropshire have the opportunity to attend a network meeting facilitated by the council. The purpose of this meeting is for the council to share up-to-date information on what’s happening, both locally and nationally, to promote training opportunities available at a higher level, and to give you the opportunity to network with EYPs from across the county. Membership is currently free to those who work in a subscribed setting. However, if you would like to pay a one-off fee to join, please contact the CPD Team who can advise you on the current cost.

Cluster groups

There is also an opportunity for you, prior to the network meeting, to access a smaller local EYP cluster group. The cluster groups are facilitated by EYPs in their own settings and they enable EYPs to come together locally to share and disseminate good practice, to welcome and support new EYPs, to discuss challenges relating to their practice, and to share common issues within the Early Years. The cluster groups are also able to propose items for inclusion at the network meeting, and to suggest themes for future higher level CPD.

Please advise the CPD Team on 01743 254570 if you would like to attend a meeting. You could also use the EYP Network email address: EYPNetwork@shropshire.gov.uk

Would you like to be more involved in your local cluster group as it moves forward and becomes more self sufficient?

If so come along to a workshop being facilitated by C4EO (The Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services) on Wednesday 16 January to find out how you can do this. The workshop will help you to finalise:

  • What it is you are trying to achieve in your local groups
  • What is your identity, for example charitable status
  • What help you need from the local authority in moving forward
  • Who can make this happen locally

The session is open to all EYPs in the county and will run from 9.30am to 4pm at Shrewsbury Training and Development Centre – lunch will be provided and backfill cover supplied to release you from your setting (providing you are on our subscription scheme).

Please book a place with the CPD Team on 01743 254570 or at earlyyearscpd@shropshire.gov.uk

Please note that once you have booked onto any meeting, you will receive a booking confirmation (please disregard the cancellation policy at the bottom as it is not applicable to these meetings).
