Biodiversity and ecology

What do we do?

In the Sustainability Group we have a dedicated ecologist. Their responsibilities are to:

• promote the cause of biodiversity
• help the County Council to protect and enhance important habitats and species when carrying out its work
• provide advice on development plans
• advise the environmental record on the development of its environmental information provision

We also have a biodiversity officer. Their job is to coordinate actions that help the Shropshire Biodiversity Partnership achieve targets set in the Shropshire Biodiversity Action Plan (SBAP). How can we help you?

You are welcome to come to us for information or advice on wildlife issues. If we can help you we will. If we can't help we will try to refer you to someone who can.
