Sustainability is the responsibility of all: individuals, groups and communities as well as local and national governments.
Follow the link on this page to find out how much of an impact your lifestyle has on the planet by calculating your carbon footprint.
There are many ways to get involved in sustainability projects and help make this world a better place for future generations, for instance:
- Encouraging colleagues at school or work to take greater responsibility
- Saving energy around your home (and maybe some money too!)
- Planting flowers in your garden to attract wildlife
Shropshire is working with groups, schools, homes and businesses to try to encourage them to think more sustainability. If you would like to get involved with any of our current projects, please follow the links on this page for more information.
Schools in Shropshire are being encouraged to get involved with a number of initiatives focused on sustainability. For more information on the Sustainability agenda in schools, please follow the links on this page.
The Shropshire Sustainable Schools Award is an annual award for schools who have made significant environmental changes in their school, building on the EcoSchools programme and the Sustainable Schools Framework.
There are a number of community groups in Shropshire who are already making a difference through a range of initiatives, from low energy lighting to insulation to carbon footprinting village events.
Households across Shropshire can benefit from advice and support about insulation and more efficient heating systems through the Keep Shropshire Warm project. Please follow the links on this page to find out more about these projects. For support in your local area, please follow the link to the Shropshire Low Carbon Network for information about groups in your area.
