How you benefit
A Workplace Travel Plan is a plan to improve the economic, safety, social, health and environmental consequences of our travel choices. Its actions encourage and facilitate walking, cycling, bus use, train use and car sharing.
Results include:
- healthier, more productive staff
- reduced business mileage costs
- more productive use of travel time
- fewer car parking problems
- not having to buy more land for car parking
- selling land used for car parking, or making better use of it
- improved relations with local residents
- improved staff recruitment, morale and retention

The council's Travel Plan Officer can help you by:
- producing a Travel Plan for your site
- carrying out staff and customer travel surveys
- providing Business Travel Grants (e.g. for cycle parking)
- positive news stories about your achievements in reducing emissions
- helping you implement your Travel Plan's Action Plan
