Shropshire Council's corporate training programme links all courses to themes that support the council’s priorities and values, including:

- Equalities and diversity
- Scrutiny

- IT training
The corporate training programme creates opportunities for employees to learn and increase their skills and knowledge, ensuring that the council is able to adapt, develop and improve its performance.
Human Resources and Development also offers employees a number of other learning and development opportunities including personal development programmes, management assessment tools such as Belbin Team Profiling, and Insight – the leadership development programme.
