Shropshire Waste Partnership conference 2006
The 2006 Shropshire Waste Partnership standing conference, was held at Hawkstone Park Hotel, north Shropshire, on Thursday 12 October, and featured a strong line-up of guest speakers, including:
- Ray Georgeson, Director of policy and evaluation with WRAP (the waste and resources action programme) chaired the conference;
- Lee Marshall, Chair of the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC) looked at the government’s national waste strategy;
- Bronwen Jameson, Head of Recycle Now with WRAP, talked about the national recycling campaign;
- SWP Director Adrian Poller provided an overview of the SWP and the PFI contract;
- Eric Smith from BBC Radio Shropshire chaired a question and answer session.
There were a series of workshops, covering communications, the community sector and recycling incentives
schemes.
