FreecycleŽ is an online community of people interested in keeping good stuff out of landfills. It is a grassroots and entirely non-profit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. The FreecycleŽ group has thousands of members across Shropshire. You see everything from TV sets to surf boards being advertised as free to a good home. The main rule is everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for all.
Please note: FreecycleŽ is an independent community operation and is not owned or run by Shropshire Council. Whilst the Council supports the concept, it cannot be held liable for any issues regarding its day to day operation of the service. Freecycle members make use of the network at their own risk.
What about Freegle?
There is also now a similar alternative to Freecycle locally, known as Freegle (Free Giving Locally and Easily) which is a UK based volunteer movement which has broken away from the US-based Freecycle Network. There are several local groups in Shropshire, for more information see their link.
