Tetra pak and similar paper-based liquid food and drinks cartons are hard to recycle because they are made up of layers of paper and plastic and sometimes lined with foil too. As such no paper mills in the UK will accept Tetra pak for recycling at present.
However thanks to the roll out of a national scheme, funded by the carton manufacturers themselves, you can now recycle your paper-based liquid food and drinks cartons, such as those made by Tetra Pak at various bring sites around the county. Please remember: wash and squash your cartons before recycling.

What happens to the Tetra pak cartons?
