Following a ballot, the National Union of Teachers has called for its members to take a day’s strike action on Thursday 24 April 2008.
Headteachers are currently trying to assess the effect of the action on the operational arrangements for their school. It will be necessary for them to determine whether or not to close the school to some or all of the pupils.
In arriving at a decision to close the school to some or all pupil, the headeacher must be satisfied that in the absence of staff the health safety and welfare of pupils can be maintained.
As soon as this assessment has been made and the position is clear the school will notify parents of any necessary changes to the usual operation of the school.
It is hoped that the amount for disruption will be kept to a minimum and that as many pupils as possible will be kept in school. If you require further information you should contact the school directly.
