About the programme

Connecting Shropshire is a programme bringing faster broadband to areas where it isn’t economically viable for commercial companies to provide it.

We aim to:

• See that superfast* broadband is available to all premises in the Shropshire Council area as soon as possible;

• Work with Government on their aspiration to deliver a step change to gigabit** broadband in the Shropshire Council area;

• Support businesses and residents in embracing and optimising the use of broadband as part of everyday life;

• Attract commercial digital infrastructure investment and support suppliers in their deployment objectives.
