The government has announced that new national restrictions will be in place from Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December.
These new measures will include:
- Requiring people to stay at home, except for specific purposes
- Preventing people gathering with others they don't live with, except for specific purposes
- Closing certain businesses and venues

The government has updated its guidance on shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from Covid-19. The new information includes additional guidance for clinically extremely vulnerable people during lockdown.
