The Government recently announced that households in England in Council Tax bands A to D will receive a £150 rebate. This will be made directly by local authorities from April, and we are currently awaiting Government guidance on how to allocate the rebate. Once we know more, we will update this page with further information.

We have received information that, following the announcement, residents are being called asking for their bank details. This is a scam and customers are advised not to pay any fees or provide any other information such as bank details if asked.

Shropshire Council does not ask for information in this way and will not cold call, text or email you asking for bank details or other personal information.
