Immediate financial support for flood-affected businesses
Applications to the Business Recovery Grant and business rate relief are now open (Wednesday 4 March).
If you're a business unfortunate enough to have been affected by recent flooding in the following ways:
- Directly impacted by the flooding - for instance there was flood damage to the property, equipment, and/or stock
- Indirectly impacted by the flooding - for instance the business has or had no/highly restricted access to premises, equipment and/or stock as a result of flooding, restricted access for customers, suppliers and/or staff, and directly suffered a loss of trade as a result.
...you're able to apply for up to £2,500 and business rate relief (if your business pays them).

What happens next?
The key thing is for businesses to apply for this financial support. Our job is to process these applications in a quick and timely manner. Your application will be reviewed by a small panel of our senior staff, who have designated authority to release payment.
If your application is approved, you'll receive payment by BACS into the bank account you provided to us in your application. If there are any problems with your application, you WILL be contacted, and it will be discussed with you.
If you don’t hear from us after you've immediately applied, please assume everything is being processed. If you do want confirmation that we're in receipt of your application please email firstname.lastname@example.org and the system will be checked.
When the panel has met and applications have been processed, you'll be advised if your application has been approved, and that the funds have now been approved for payment.
We do also appreciate that this will have had a toll not just on your business but also your wellbeing. Consider some of the emotional support available both nationally and locally.
