We are a committee run Pre-school open from 8.30am-3pm. We cater primarily for children from Gobowen and the surrounding area.  We take children from 2-5 years.

Main duties

• To provide safe creative and appropriate play opportunities, to plan and teach in the moment, working within the development matters framework.
• To assist in the set-up of our indoor and outdoor areas at the beginning of each session and the tidying away at the end of each session.
• To take charge and lead sessions when required.
• To mentor other team members in appropriate skills and training.
• If required, to carry out observations as a key person and keep records so that the children’s attainment and progress is effectively and regularly assessed.
• Timely and accurate record keeping
• To advise the Leader or Deputy of any concerns, to include concerns about children, staff members or equipment.
• To work within the current policies, procedures and practices that are in place.
• To liaise closely with parents and carers ensuring that children’s individual needs are recognised and met, encouraging parental involvement and support.
• To plan and implement termly parents evenings.
• To attend any training or meetings when required.
• To keep up to date with developments in Childcare practice and legislation and to share knowledge with other members of the team as appropriate.
• To administer First aid as appropriate.
• To keep confidential any information regarding the children, their families and other staff which is learnt as part of the role. 

Essential requirements

• NVQ level 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education or equivalent
• Understanding of the EYFS principles
• Ability to work within an equal opportunities framework
• Be child focused
• Effective teamwork skills and room leadership skills
• At least 3 years experience of working in a pre-school environment
• Have initiative
• Have an awareness of health and safety
• Be flexible

6.5 hours -21.5 hours until July 2021
