NOTICE IS GIVEN that Shropshire Council has received from Cleobury Mortimer an application under Regulation 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations for Shropshire Council to designate the area comprising the civil parish of Cleobury Mortimer as a “neighbourhood area” within the meaning of section 61 G of the 1990 Act (see explanatory note below).

A copy of the application made by Cleobury Mortimer Town Council, a map of the proposed area, and the application advert are attached to this page. They can also be viewed at Shirehall, Abbey Foregate Shrewsbury during weekdays 8.30 am to 5pm, the Cleobury Mortimer Town Council website or on parish noticeboards in Cleobury Mortimer.

Representations on whether the civil parish of Cleobury Mortimer is an appropriate 'neighbourhood area' may be made to us during a period of four weeks ending at 5pm on Thursday 28 September 2017 by writing to Planning Policy, Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND, or by emailing planning.policy@shropshire.gov.uk

Explanatory note

Following the Introduction of the Localism Act 2011, the purpose of designating a neighbourhood area is for a neighbourhood plan to then be prepared for that area.  Cleobury Mortimer Town Council is in the earliest stages of considering a neighbourhood plan, and this application seeks now to formalise the process.
