Aims: This workshop provides training for professionals in mental health care to work with people who hear voices. It provides an understanding of Maastricht Interview for Voices, an assessment tool developed by Dr Sandra Escher and Professor Marius Romme and how this can be used to support people who hear voices.

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Gain an understanding of the principles of Maastricht Interview for voices and consider how this can be used in practice
  • Learn how to make sense of and accept the persons voices
  • Develop skills in establishing a link between the persons voices and their life experiences as a means of providing support.
  • Provides the opportunity to develop basic skills through practice, using the interview process to work with a voice hearer in the training..

Audience: Staff and volunteers supporting adults who hear voices and may have experienced childhood trauma
