Book cover

In 1975, author Joan Shirley-Davies bought an old trunk from a house clearance sale. Inside, was a bundle of letters, bound by an old ribbon. It would be years before Joan would begin to transcribe the letters and realise the significance of what she had found.

‘Alyona’s voice’ is a modern work of fiction inspired by love letters written in 1921, by an eminent French-Canadian, while he was in London. He was a Fellow of the Geological Society and Royal Society of Canada.

Come and hear about the incredible true story that inspired Joan’s latest novel, ‘Alyona’s voice’
