All libraries are now open (19 July)
In accordance with Step 4 of the government’s recovery roadmap many Covid restrictions in libraries have now been relaxed. However for the time-being we will be retaining some measures to help ensure the safety of customers and staff.
This is what you can expect in libraries from Monday 19 July:
- Although face coverings are no longer mandatory we encourage their use in our libraries
- Hand sanitiser will continue to be made available at library entrances
- Where applicable protective screens will remain in place on library counters and desks
- We will continue to ventilate spaces as best we can because this is an effective way to help prevent the spread of the virus
- We will no longer be limiting the numbers of people in buildings so customers are now free to spend time in our libraries, but please try to respect other people’s space where possible
- Time limits on computer use have returned to the normal 2 hours per day.
- Fines for overdue items have been reinstated from 19 July
- We encourage customers to give their details for the Track & Trace system, either by scanning the QR code or giving their details to staff
- From 26 July most libraries will return to normal opening times. Please check your local branch for details
