National Libraries Day
Celebrate and support Shropshire Libraries by visiting your local library on National Libraries Day, Saturday 6th February 2016. Find out about the variety of services on offer and the difference that public libraries make to people across Shropshire. Everyone can have a library card and National Libraries Day will be a great time to pick one up!
Libraries will be hosting an array of events to mark the occasion, including coffee mornings, a choir performance, a collaborative art project, and a special workshop with Matt Sewell – artist and author of the bestselling book Our Garden Birds.
With over 280 million visits nationwide, going to the library is one of the most popular activities in the UK. More people went to the library than to Premier League football matches (13.9 million), the theatre (22 million) and cinema (165.5 million) combined. So why not join in with over half a million people who visited their library since April 2015 in Shropshire and find out what your local library can offer to you.
