We are now recruiting to the Early Help SEND Lead in Shropshire. This role is the Early Help operational link into the Children’s Social Care Disabled Children’s Team, SEND Team and other SEND relevant partner organisations. It has lead responsibility for collaborative working across the Early Help Partnership and will play a key role in supporting and developing services for families with children aged 0-25 who have SEND, in line with relevant Statutory Guidance and Shropshire’s SEND Strategy.

The successful candidate will provide training, support, guidance to the Early Help workforce in order to enhance the partnership’s ability to meet the needs of children with SEND. They will also provide direct individualised support to Lead Professionals supporting families with children with SEND, and provide challenge and direction where required.

They will attend a range of multi-agency panel meetings where the collective needs of children and young people with SEND and their families are discussed, and will then be required to liaise closely with other staff in the Targeted Early Help Team, schools and other agencies to provide clear and effective communication in order to ensure the decisions regarding Early Help provision are implemented.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of working with vulnerable children and families, including children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. With strong communication skills, they will have experience of working in a multi-agency environment.
