Online catalogues
We currently have three online catalogues. It’s worth searching all of them as, although there is some overlap, each includes unique information. Please be aware that not all our catalogues are online yet, so if you can’t find what you are looking for, you may need to contact us or visit and check our printed catalogues.
Discovering Shropshire's History website
This website includes a database covering a wide range of our archive collections as well as our local studies library.
It also includes images of some of our documents and photographs but in many cases if you want more information you will need to visit, request a copy of the document(s) through our Image Service or ask our Researcher to search through a document and transcribe details.

Shropshire Archives online catalogue
This website covers most of our catalogued archive collections. It includes nearly 200,000 records but has not been updated since April 2008 and does not include the local studies library or any images.
Please note that we are currently experiencing technical problems with this catalogue and apologise for the problems this causes. Sometimes refreshing the screen does help but please let us know if you experience continued problems. In the long term, most of the data is being transferred onto the Discovering Shropshire's History website as above.
Access to Archives
This is a national database which includes details of a large number of our collections, some of which are not yet available on our own online catalogues.

The Newsplan West Midlands website has details of newspaper titles which can be viewed at Shropshire Archives and elsewhere throughout the West Midlands.
