The Battle of Shrewsbury 1403 was one of the bloodiest battles of English History fought between King Henry IV and Henry Tudor (commonly called Harry Hotspur). Today, you can visit this medieval site, walking the Hotspur and Royal Trails, taking in the fish pools and Battlefield Church (Saint Mary Magdalene). Interpretation panels provide information about the battle.

The church was built in the 1400's to commemorate the battle. It is open On Sunday afternoons from May to September. If you wish to visit at other times a key can be borrowed from the Travelodge reception near the site on the A49

There is a leaflet available from Tourist Information Centres to tell you about the site and the battle and showing the route of the 2 trails. It is also available to download on this page.

A new family friendly route has been designed at the site and is available for download on this page.
