Ellesmere Library is one of seven community libraries in the North Shropshire Library Area and is managed from Oswestry Library.

Ellesmere Library offers activities and events for children and young people and has an active and popular Homework Club which meets after school on a Thursday 4.00 - 6.00 pm and Saturday 2 - 4 pm during termtime. There is also Rhymetime for very young children. You can download leaflets telling you about these activities from this page.

There is a thriving Reading Group who meet monthly in the library on the last Monday of each month. There is currently a proposal to develop Ellesmere Market Hall and to move the library into the refurbished building.

A Library Support Group has been established to ensure that the development of the library reflects the needs and aspirations of the community. The group will work closely with the Market Hall Development Steering Group on the promotion of the project and will also act as advocates within the community.
