What is the SAMDev Plan?
The new Site Allocations and Development Management (SAMDev) document is the second major planning policy document of the Shropshire Local Development Framework (LDF), following the Core Strategy.
It will allocate sites for various types of development and set out further detailed policies to guide future development across Shropshire up to 2026.
In accordance with the localism agenda, the SAMDev will also provide a community influenced means of shaping the future of local towns, villages and the countryside. The needs of Shropshire's local communtiies are set out in the 18 area based Shropshire Place Plans. The Place Plans can be accessed by following the link below.
Update on current progress - Towards a Preferred Option
The Council are currently preparing the preferred option document for the Site Allocations and Management of Development DPD (SAMDev).
As part of this, assessments are currently being made on all the potential site options in Shropshire's settlements. Once this has been completed the Council will consult the public with the preferred list of site options in January 2012.
If you are promoting a site through the SAMDev process, the Council would be pleased to accept any further information regarding your site which could be used to inform the site assessment process.
