Registration Service Points

There are 13 registration points located across the Shropshire Council area. An appointment to register a birth or death, or attend to marriage or civil partnership preliminaries can be made by calling 0345 678 9016 (via Customer Service Centre.)

The location and opening hours for each registration service point can be found on this page. These services should be accessed by appointment only.

Although registration officers will make every effort to see people who turn up without appointments, there are no guarantees that they will be seen in less than an hour as appointments take priority.

Christmas and New Year Opening Hours

Please note; the Registration Service will operate the following hours during the Christmas and New Year holiday period:

Thursday, 24th December 2009 - Closed
Friday, 25th December 2009 - Closed
Monday, 28th December 2009 - Closed
Tuesday, 29th December 2009 - Normal Office Hours
Wednesday, 30th December 2009 - Normal Office Hours
Thursday, 31st December 2009 - Offices close at 4pm
Friday, 1st January 2010 - Closed
Monday, 4th January 2010 - Normal Office Hours

If you need to contact the service out of hours during the Christmas and New Year period in the event of an emergency, in particular in the circumstances highlighted below:

• Emergency death registrations for those with particular cultural or religious beliefs;
• Registrar Generals Licences for Marriages or Civil Partnership (where one party is seriously ill and not expected to recover).

Please contact your funeral director or, in the event of requiring a Registrar General’s Licence for Marriage or Civil Partnership your GP or if the person is in hospital, the Hospital Administrator or Chaplain.

Registrations during our office hours will continue to be by appointment only. Please telephone 0345 678 9016 during the above office hours to make an appointment.
