Shropshire Council awards free school meals to families who receive the qualifying incomes, with children who attend a Shropshire Council school full time.
Many Shropshire schools operate a cashless card system, which means that pupils receiving free school meals will remain completely anonymous.
If you register for free school meals, your child’s school will be entitled to a pupil premium of £600.
Schools with sixth forms, and some colleges, also offer free meals to students up to the age of 19 years, who receive a benefit in their own right. If your child attends a college within the Shropshire local authority area, or if you attend a college and claim benefit in your own right, please contact the college direct.
