Useful news and information

  • To celebrate the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin, at dusk on the first Sunday of each month throughout 2009 there will be a digital projection on the Shrewsbury Library building of photos, film and animation as part of the Darwin Festival. Shrewsbury Library is housed in a series of historic buildings which were once the home of Shrewsbury School, attended by Charles Darwin as a boarder from 1818 to 1825.
  • Also as part of the Darwin celebrations, The Lost World Read will be running through the summer, involving a mass-read of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic adventure story. Follow the link on this page for further details.
  • A Local History Centre has opened at Craven Arms Library. This follows lots of hard work by the volunteers of the new Craven Arms and District History Group.
  • Books in Polish. Lokalna biblioteka można bezpłatnie skorzystać z komputera i książki w języku Polskim. [Your local library can provide you with free computer access and books in Polish] - books in other languages are also available or can be provided on request.
