Being active doesn't just mean going to a leisure facility or a club and taking part in sports. Being active is about getting involved in any kind of physical activity which raises your heart rate.
Shropshire Council provides a variety of Physical Activity schemes, which are suitable for the less mobile and those with medical conditions that may prevent them from taking part in mainstream sport.
Follow the links to the left, to take you through the different physical activity schemes and opportunities currently on offer around Shropshire.
To help you get started on the way to being more active, you can download advice on how much exercise you should be doing and how to find out if what you are doing is benefitting your health. Links to the Department for Health, British Heart Foundation, Age Concern and 5 a Day websites can be found in the Related Information section on this page, along with links to websites providing information on walking, riding and cycling opportunities in Shropshire.
