Children's social care
The role of Children’s Social Care for children, young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families is to provide non-stigmatising help and support when it is needed. This should focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for your child, providing practical support and recognising any additional pressures facing the whole family.
Assessments, help and support may be offered by a range of social care practitioners, both from within and outside of the Children’s Social Care service.
Children’s Social Care also support children and young people with SEND who are looked after (in foster care or residential care) and those who need protection.
