The new Shropshire Council touches the lives of our customers in so many ways, and we aim to do this by providing excellent services at a time and a place to suit their lifestyles.
Ours is a major and complex business, the largest in the county, with 300,000 customers and we are always working extremely hard to make sure that we do the best for our customers.
Previously Shropshire County Council was one of the best performing councils in the country. The local government watchdog The Audit Commission rated Shropshire County Council a “four star” council, that is “improving strongly” – for a second year running. This is the highest rating possible, achieved by Shropshire County Council and only 9 other councils in the UK, and we intend to keep this high level of performance through into Shropshire Council.
But we won’t stop there. Our aim is to continually develop and improve our services, and to listen when our customers tell us that we need to do things differently.
Our overall promise is that we will always put our customers first, as we safeguard and enhance the future of this wonderful county.
