How to recycle

family recycling

It's never been easier to recycle in Shropshire. Shropshire Council and our contractor Veolia Environmental Services are working hard to provide the services and facilities you need to recycle more of your household waste, more often. These include...

Kerbside collections
You can recycle from home using your kerbside collection scheme. For more information about your scheme, select the 'kerbside recycling services' link in the menu bar.

Household recycling centres
There are five household recycling centres (HRCs) in Shropshire at which you can recycle up to 20 different types of waste, including plastic bottles, batteries, cardboard, wood, electrical items and garden waste. The HRCs are located in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Bridgnorth, Whitchurch and Craven Arms. There is also an amenity skip and recycling centre in Ludlow.

Recycling banks
You can also recycle using one of the recycling banks found, for example, in many supermarket, pub and leisure centre car parks. To find your nearest bank, select the 'recycling points' link in the menu bar.

Home composting
Composting at home is one of the easiest and most effective ways of recycling green (organic) rubbish. Follow the links for more information.
