Shropshire Master Composters
The Shropshire Master Composters group was formed two years ago and members spend their spare time attending events and giving talks to small groups to explain the benefits of composting at home.
The group currently has 49 members but more volunteers, particularly people from the Bridgnorth, south Shropshire and north Shropshire areas, are always welcome.
Volunteers will need to have a genuine interest in home composting, and be prepared to attend events and give talks.
Full training, including a two-day foundation course, will be provided, and at the end of the course each volunteer will have qualified as a Master Composter. The next training course is due to be held on 25 and 26 October.
Anyone interested in becoming a Master Composter should contact Sue Jelleyman at Shropshire Waste Partnership on 01743 210713, or email sue.jelleyman@shropshire.gov.uk.
The group is run by the Shropshire Waste Partnership (SWP) and funded by Veolia Environmental Services, SWP’s contractors
Shropshire’s master composters will be attending a number of events across the county during summer and autumn 2008. For more information follow the link to their website.
