This survey has been designed for town and parish councils to help Shropshire Council better understand how partnership working can be developed and improved.

Shropshire Council’s cabinet would particularly like to hear: 

• Your views on how the partnership should work and how we have an equal say in making our communities and services the best they can be
• Your experiences engaging with Shropshire Council (eg highways, planning, developer levies, communications)
• Your thoughts on how we can improve
• Which services you believe could be better delivered locally either by town and parish councils, using local providers, or in partnership with Shropshire Council

This is not the first time town and parish councils have been asked for their views, and responses provided last year have been considered. The key themes highlighted within previous responses have been used as a basis for this work, focusing more on wider partnership working and communications.

The survey will be open for two months and the aim will be to develop and recommend policy changes cross-party through the Transformation and Improvement Scrutiny Committee. We hope to see recommended policy changes to cabinet and full council before the end of 2025.

A paper copy of the survey is attached. All responses will be accepted whether from individual council members or collaborative responses.
