We have a set of online resources to support local parish and town councils with regard to BT payphones, of which there are currently around 350 operational in Shropshire.

The resources have been developed with Historic Environment colleagues to include FAQ about adopting kiosks, and about caring for kiosks.

The most recent information with which we have provided BT is also available as an online resource, and comprises details of payphones affected; local community views; and decisions reached by Shropshire Council about whether to object to removal of the service; to consent to removal of telephony, principally so that parish and town councils can adopt their kiosks; or to consent to removal of telephony and kiosk where its use is no longer seen as warranted.
