Test and trace support payments

30 September 2020 Last updated at 01:22

In order to support people on low incomes, from 28 September 2020 you may be entitled to a test and trace support payment of £500 if you:

  • Have been told to stay at home and self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace service, either because you've tested positive for coronavirus or have recently been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, and
  • Are employed or self-employed, and
  • Are unable to work from home and will lose income as a result, and
  • Are currently receiving universal credit, working tax credit, income-based employment and support allowance, income-based jobseeker’s allowance, income support, housing benefit and/or pension credit.

We're developing a simple and easy to use form for you to apply for this payment, and it will be available on our website shortly.

In the meantime, if you're struggling financially due to Covid-19 or for any other reason, please visit our benefits page to see what help is available from Shropshire Council.
