Our service during the Coronavirus National Lockdown

06 January 2021 Last updated at 04:59

The Historic Environment Team are closely following government and Public Health England guidance about Covid-19.

The team will continue to work remotely during this time to provide continuity of service. Therefore, we will be limiting the amount of site visits we undertake to customers, to reduce the infection risks to our customers and staff, with an aim to undertake as many digital consultations as possible.

We will remain contactable on the usual telephone numbers and email addresses during the period, although please be aware that some staff are also covering childcare arrangements so may take longer to respond than normal.

We ask during this period that you do not send any correspondence via post or hand delivery to any offices, as we won't be able to process them.

Shropshire Council's Historic Environment Record
The Historic Environment Record (HER) has now moved to Shrewsbury Library, Castle Gates, Shrewsbury. Access to our reference collections is possible by prior appointment - please contact her@shropshire.gov.uk in the first instance.

Heritage from home - If you are looking to undertake research from home during this time, please refer to guidance we have previously produced into some key online resources that might be useful.

Please note that Shropshire Archives have reopened; refer to their website for further information.
