Our service during the Coronavirus National Lockdown

06 January 2021 Last updated at 04:50

The Historic Environment Team are closely following government and Public Health England guidance about Covid-19.

The team will continue to work remotely during this time to provide continuity of service. Therefore, we will be limiting the amount of site visits we undertake to customers, to reduce the infection risks to our customers and staff, with an aim to undertake as many digital consultations as possible.

We will remain contactable on the usual telephone numbers and email addresses during the period, although please be aware that some staff are also covering childcare arrangements so may take longer to respond than normal.

We ask during this period that you do not send any correspondence via post or hand delivery to any offices, as we won't be able to process them.

Shropshire Council's Historic Environment Record
The Historic Environment Record (HER) remains open for remote enquiries. No access is currently possible to our reference collections, but we will assist where we can with digital access - please email in the first instance.

Heritage from home - If you are looking to undertake research from home during this time, please refer to guidance we have previously produced into some key online resources that might be useful.

Please note that Shropshire Archives are closed during this time, but their website has many useful resources for researching local, family and building history. You may also wish to explore the website of Shropshire Museums for ideas for home-based activities, as all Shropshire Museum sites currently remain closed.
