Important information about recycling and rubbish collections from November 7th 2022

17 October 2022 Last updated at 02:35

My new calendar shows I will be waiting over eighteen days before a collection of rubbish.  What do I do with my rubbish for this period?

Where residents have a day change or week change and the gap between refuse (general rubbish) collections is over eighteen days you will get an additional collection on your current refuse collection day.  This will not show on the calendar that has been posted to you.  However, if this applies to you a postcard will be sent to advise your next five collection dates.

Will the time of my collection change?

Even if your collection day does not change the time it’s collected will. Please ensure your containers are out for 7am to ensure collection.

When will I find out if my bin day has changed?

Your new calendar will be posted via Royal Mail to you in October. Please look out for it as it will show if your bin day is changing.

Will the online bin day finder be correct?

The bin day finder will be updated to show the correct information. From 26th October 2022.

Why are you doing this?

To improve your recycling and waste service we’re changing the routes that some of our vehicles follow to offer a more efficient service with a lower carbon footprint.

Will the change affect my recycling and rubbish collections?

Any changes will affect both recycling and rubbish, all services will all be aligned to the current fortnightly schedule of refuse then green and recycling.
