The Local Authority Building Excellence Awards are the Oscars of the construction industry and aim to recognise builders and their agents who have completed a building project to a high standard of construction in the past twelve months. All schemes taking part in the event were initially nominated by their Shropshire building control surveyor.
Mal Price, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for regulatory services and housing, said:
“These awards recognise and reward excellence, which we can be very proud of.
“I congratulate all of our winners and wish them the very best of luck at the national awards”.
Phil Russell, Shropshire Council’s building control manager, said:
“This was a great event that showcased the very high-quality building projects that have been constructed in Shropshire over the past year. Shropshire Council building control is all about excellence achieved through building standards, technical innovation and sustainable designs.”
The winners of the Shropshire / Staffordshire event will now receive an automatic entry into the West Midlands Building Excellence Awards to be held in September 2015, and if successful will then go through to the finals in London later in the year.
