Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan

Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan Adoption

On 17 July 2014 Shropshire Council adopted the Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Development Plan under Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory purchase Act 2004.

The plan has now been adopted by Shropshire Council and forms part of the development plan for Much Wenlock Parish.

The Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Development Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Shropshire.

Background to preparation of the Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Development Plan

Following the submission of the Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Development Plan to Shropshire Council in April 2013, the plan was publicised, representations were invited and an independent examiner appointed. The independent examiner’s report concluded that, subject to making the modifications recommended, the plan met the basic conditions set out in the legislation and should proceed to a neighbourhood planning referendum.

Having considered the examiner’s report and each of the recommendations made by the report, the council made modifications to the draft plan to ensure that it met the basic conditions set out in legislation and could proceed to referendum. On 22 May the Neighbourhood Plan was endorsed through the referendum. The adopted version of the Neighbourhood Plan and relevant information relating to its preparation and examination can be found on this page.
