Essential resurfacing work is be carried out on the A41 at Hinstock, starting on Monday 18 September. The work will take six weeks to complete and will be carried out using lane closures and temporary traffic lights. For safety reasons a 20mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the work. Access to properties and businesses within the site will be maintained throughout the work. This site has been identified via a combination of asset management data and local engineering judgment and has been deemed in need of essential maintenance.

We’re aware that this work will cause some local disruption, and we'll work with our contractor to minimise this. We ask for people’s patience and support while this important work is carried out.

Updates will be added to this page throughout the work to keep you informed of progress.

Update - 9 October 2017

The works are progressing well and are currently on programme. Approximately 80% of the deep carriageway reconstruction and 75% of the ironwork replacement has been completed to date. Traffic signs replacement is currently ongoing.

Please note that the 20mph speed limit through the works is not advisory and is legally enforceable. It is in place primarily to protect the site staff and travelling public, but also to protect the works themselves.
